About The Big Sobriety

Everything on this blog has been a lifetime in the making.

The first couple of posts may lead you to believe that this blog will be about the politics surrounding sobriety and intoxication. You will not be completely mistaken, but this blog will be this and much, much more.

It will be about the good and the bad, the highs and the lows of sobriety and inebriation. This blog is about the happiness, the joy, the misery and the pain. In short, it is about life. And a life that I have lived to the fullest that I have been able.

To assist you in navigating your way through Here is how the blog works;

The Politics of Sobriety: my views on the politics surrounding my most treasured subject.
Foreign Fields: The sun never sleeps upon the War on Drugs. It is pervasive throughout the globe. So here is the sobriety news and views from around the world.
The Culture of Sobriety: an inebriates look at sobriety and intoxication in the culture of today and yesteryear.
The Sobriety Laws: more specific comment on the laws governing our use of intoxicants.
The Sobriety Tales: our hero looks back at a life of sobriety and intoxication and regals us with individual tales that are full derring-do, merriment and woe. Hold on to your hats.

This blog is an ever evolving entity and I will currently blog under the alias of The Big Sobriety. I have to remain anonymous, because I am a criminal. I do not mean to be, but I am. I dont believe my journey through sobriety and intoxication to be particular remarkable, especially as I have not hurt anyone bar myself.

Yet I have been in possession of substances that are illegal. I have broken laws that millions of my fellow citizens have broken too. And the criminal justice system finds room for people just like me.

One day I will tell you the truth and identify myself. You maybe surprised to find out who I am. For even if you do not know me, you will know plenty of people like me. You just don't know they have taken drugs too. There are more people like me than you may suspect.
